Samsung’s affordable flagship model is making a comeback.

The Samsung Galaxy FE series is considered a royalty of the premium mid-range Android smartphones. The last time the Korean company launched an FE series smartphone was in January 2022, when it unveiled the Galaxy S21 FE.

A new report confirms that the company is bringing back the Galaxy FE series, with the Galaxy S23 FE potentially launching later this year.

This information comes from Android Authority’s interview with a Samsung representative, who confirmed that a Galaxy FE smartphone will launch soon.

Android Authority talked to Justin Hume, VP of mobile for Samsung South Africa, during yesterday’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 launch event, asking him, “There is an FE-sized gap between the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy S23, isn’t there?”

Hume replied, “There is an FE-sized gap in there, right now,” before laughing. “There is going to be an announcement made. Imminently.”

The Galaxy S23 FE could come sooner than later

So, in other words, the Galaxy S23 FE (we expect that would be the name of the device) is surely on its way, and we can expect a launch or an announcement soon.

Thanks to leaked renders, we already have a good idea of what the device would look like. Another leak says that the FE variant could feature the Exynos 2200 chipset.

However, the latest rumor points to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 series being used, but only in select regions.

Additionally, the Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (whichever chipset they end up choosing) would be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The device would also feature a triple camera system with a 50MP primary shooter and a 4,500mAh battery, accompanied by 25W wired fast charging.
