Fitbit is a leading fitness tracker manufacturer with a global user base. However, despite its popularity, the company has released only a handful of new fitness trackers in recent years.

The most recent launch from the company is Fitbit Inspire 3, launched in 2022, and we haven’t seen a launch since then. However, a recent report indicates Fitbit might be gearing up to launch at least one fitness tracker in 2023.

What is this new 2023 Fitbit fitness tracker?

New Fitbit Fitness Tracker is in the works
Image: KnowTechie

A new FCC filing indicates a launch is imminent. So, we expect Fitbit to launch this new 2023 fitness tracker pretty soon. However, we are yet to learn what the device actually will be like.

According to the listing, the upcoming tracker has only Bluetooth connectivity support, meaning there’s no Wi-Fi and likely no NFC support. So, in other words, you won’t be able to use Fitbit Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments.

In light of this leak, we only see two possibilities. It could be a sequel to the Fitbit Luxe, which originally launched in 2021.

At the time of its launch, the fitness tracker company had tried to market it as a luxury model, but it also didn’t feature NFC support, which didn’t make any sense. However, it is unlikely Fitbit would make the same mistake again.

The other possibility we are looking at is the sequel to the Fitbit Ace 3. The Ace line is designed for kids, so the missing NFC is justified.

Of course, there’s still a chance that we are looking at a completely new fitness tracker from the company. But we firmly believe this is Fitbit Ace 4.

The wait for the iPhone 15 Pro Max could stretch into October https://knowtechie.com/iphone-15-pro-max-delay-rumor/ https://knowtechie.com/iphone-15-pro-max-delay-rumor/#respond Tue, 22 Aug 2023 15:11:12 +0000 https://knowtechie.com/?p=315346 if you're planning to pre-order the iPhone 15 Pro Max, brace yourself for slightly longer wait times. Apple, known for its dramatic product launches, is at it again.

This time, the much-anticipated iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra, or whatever they’re calling it) might be fashionably late to its debut.

An anonymous 9to5Mac source suggests we might be looking at an October release instead of the usual late September launch.

But don’t start hyperventilating into your Apple-branded paper bag just yet. Apple’s annual September event is still on track. We expect the entire iPhone 15 lineup, including the basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.

However, the show’s star, the Pro Max/Ultra, might make us wait a little longer.

The reason for this delay?

A shortage of camera parts. Sony, Apple’s long-time collaborator, is reportedly lagging in producing the periscope telephoto camera, a rumored exclusive for the Pro Max/Ultra.

This isn’t just any camera, folks. It’s expected to take the iPhone’s zoom capabilities from “meh” to “wow,” potentially allowing for up to 10x optical zoom.

This isn’t the first time an iPhone has played hard to get. Last year, the iPhone 14 Plus also made a late entrance. So, while we’re all eager to get our hands on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, we might need to practice a bit of patience.

Will the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s delay be worth the wait?

Despite the potential delay, the iPhone 15 series is set to strut its stuff on September 12. With rumored features like the Action button, 3-nanometer A17 Bionic chipset on the Pro models, and Dynamic Island notches for all models, it promises to be worth the wait.

So, if you’re planning to pre-order the iPhone 15 Pro Max, brace yourself for slightly longer wait times. If all goes to plan, hopefully, it’s worth the wait.

WhatsApp is on a roll. The popular instant messaging app is getting new features very regularly of late.

We recently reported spotting multiple upgrades in the WhatsApp for Android beta, including the likely addition of passkey, AI-generated stickers, and the schedule group call feature.

But WhatsApp is finally getting its long-awaited update that allows users to send images without compromising the image quality.

No more compromised image quality on WhatsApp

In his most recent Facebook post, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced WhatsApp is getting HD photo support.

WhatsApp users have asked for this feature for a long time, and the new feature will allow users to preserve the image quality when sent from Android, iOS, or the web.

The HD images will be denoted by a small “HD” logo that will appear at the bottom left corner. Once you update the app, you will be able to see the option appear among to the Editing Tools when sending an image to a message thread.

The image is informing the user that their security code with WBI Community has changed, and they can tap to learn more about it. Full Text: 4:45 & WBL WBI Community ... After tapping the “HD” icon, you will be able to choose between standard quality and HD quality. According to TechCrunch, the Standard Quality will be selected by default to ensure sharing photos remains fast and reliable.

However, you will have a choice if you receive an HD image while you have bad internet connectivity. You will be able to choose whether to receive the image in SD or HD.

The HD photo support feature was first spotted in the 2.23.12.13 beta version for Android and the 23.11.0.76 best version for iOS. WABetaInfo even captured screenshots of the feature.

The feature is not widely available yet. The global rollout of WhatsApp HD Photos should happen sometime next week, followed by HD video support.

Samsung announced an updated portable projector today, the $800 Freestyle 2. It has inbuilt cloud gaming access and more memory, so it should be snappier.

The cylindrical projector hasn’t changed a great deal from the last model. It’s still around the same size and weight (under two pounds) and can project a screen of between 30 and 100 inches.

That makes it perfect to travel with as a portable big-screen console to rival handheld versions. Thanks to Samsung Gaming Hub, the Freestyle 2 has access to the largest cloud gaming services.

Gaming Hub makes the Freestyle 2 even better

Samsung released Gaming Hub last year on TVs, bundling Xbox Game Pass, Amazon Luna, Nvidia GeForce Now, and multiple other game streamers into one central place. Now it’s on a portable projector, which makes cloud gaming possible anywhere.

The Freestyle 2 has an optional battery base, so it can be used to project a 1920×1080 picture on any surface, anywhere. It can also be powered from USB-C power banks, so you’re not tied to the first-party battery.

Imagine playing games at night on the inside of your tent while camping. Or playing on the back of your house while the BBQ sizzles.

All you need to get gaming is the Freestyle 2 projector and any Bluetooth controller. Sync the two together, and sign into your cloud gaming subscriptions through the Gaming Hub.

It’s also running Tizen OS, the operating system used on Samsung’s TVs. That means access to your favorite streaming services, from Disney+ to Netflix.

The Samsung Freestyle 2 costs $800 and comes with a SolarCell remote, which charges from ambient light.

Pre-orders are live now through August 30. You’ll also get a free IP55-rated carrying case (a $60 value) during that time.

Lenovo Legion Go looks beefier than Steam Deck in leaked images https://knowtechie.com/lenovo-legion-go-first-look-leaked-images/ https://knowtechie.com/lenovo-legion-go-first-look-leaked-images/#respond Thu, 17 Aug 2023 15:36:48 +0000 https://knowtechie.com/?p=314358 New leaked images finally reveal the existence of Lenovo's first Windows-based gaming handheld, the Lenovo Legion Go.

The post Lenovo Legion Go looks beefier than Steam Deck in leaked images appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
The handheld gaming market is getting more attention than ever. What started with Valve’s Steam Deck was nothing short of a revolution, which continued with ASUS’s ROG Ally. Now, it looks like Lenovo has the helm with the Lenovo Legion Go.

However, this isn’t the first time Lenovo dabbled in the handheld gaming territory. The company was rumored to launch an Android-based device called Legion Play, which was ultimately a no-show.

So, a month earlier, when we reported the Legion Go rumor, we wondered how this new handheld would stack up against major players like Steam Deck or ROG Ally. Fortunately, we now have leaked images of the device, which look very good!

Lenovo Legion Go really exists!

The initial report about the Lenovo Legion Go didn’t reveal anything except the name. So, we were skeptical.

Thankfully, Windows Report lifted the veil of mystery from the Lenovo Legion Go with a new leak, where the outlet shared detailed images of the handheld device from multiple angles.

According to the images, Lenovo’s take on PC handheld looks quite similar to the Steam Deck or ROG Ally but also takes cues from the Nintendo Switch.

Lenovo Legion Go looks excellent with Joy-Con-like controllers

Windows Report has revealed that the Legion Go sports an 8-inch display, which is considerably larger than the 7-inch displays of the Deck or Ally.

The device also features Joy-Con-like slide-out controllers and has the same kickstand as the Switch.

Source: Lenovo via Windows Report

However, Legion Go’s controllers aren’t exactly similar to Nintendo Switch. While the controllers are detachable, the design is a combination of Switch’s flat and Steam Deck‘s outlined grips.

We noticed what looked like a touchpad on the right controller. In contrast, Steam Deck features touchpads on both controllers. We speculate the display to be touchscreen as the controllers are detachable.

That said, the most important takeaway from the images is the fact that Lenovo Legion Go is thick. Thicker than thick, in fact.

ASUS hastily steered off from making the ROG Ally bulky, compromising the device’s battery life. However, Lenovo isn’t shy about making Legion Go beefier.

Windows Report also mentioned that Legion Go will run Windows 11, meaning you can enjoy all Windows games on this upcoming gaming handheld.

The previous report suggested AMD Phoenix processors like the one in the ROG Ally and other upcoming Windows handhelds will power the Legion Go. However, we have no confirmation yet.

Moreover, the release window and the rest of the specs are still unknown. Hopefully, we will get more information in the coming weeks. Until then, let’s stare at these leaked images some more.

Google Nearby Share inches closer to AirDrop with new feature https://knowtechie.com/quicker-sharing-nearby-share-feature-android/ https://knowtechie.com/quicker-sharing-nearby-share-feature-android/#respond Thu, 17 Aug 2023 13:26:53 +0000 https://knowtechie.com/?p=314205 Nearby Share is about to get a bit quicker.

The post Google Nearby Share inches closer to AirDrop with new feature appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
Google’s Nearby Share has provided phenomenal support to Android users that use NFC to share files between devices, and it might just be the closest competitor to Apple’s AirDrop on Android.

Google even officially launched Nearby Share on Windows over a month ago.

That said, Google’s Nearby Share is not as convenient and seamless as Apple’s AirDrop. However, Google is likely making a move to make it slightly better.

Google is working to improve Nearby Share

Recently, a number of Android users noticed Nearby Share targets on Android’s share sheet.

One of those users shared a screenshot with prominent technology journalist and Android expert Mishaal Rahman, who took the liberty of sharing the image on X, formerly Twitter

As you can see in the image, a few Nearby Share targets are listed on the share sheet, including what looks like a Pixel Tablet and Legion 5 PC.

The difference is, until now, you had to tap Share >> Tap Nearby Share >> Select from a list of devices >> Tap Send. However, the targets are now appearing on the share sheet, making sharing easier by eliminating a step.

Nearby Share Targets are Visible

While AirDrop users have to choose an option before they can share with AirDrop-enabled devices on the screen, Nearby Share shows compatible devices as soon as you hit the Share button

One might even say this new feature puts Android’s Nearby Share ahead of Apple’s AirDrop.

Although a number of Android users have reported seeing Nearby Share targets on the screen, Google is yet to roll out the feature widely. But, hopefully, it will roll out to more users soon.

The post WhatsApp’s AI-generated stickers could give casual users an edge appeared first on KnowTechie.

Generative AI gives users the flexibility to create new expressions, and it looks like WhatsApp is working on a way to get generative AI at your fingertips.

The popular instant messaging platform is reportedly working on a new feature to generate stickers with AI and share them.

The advent of artificial intelligence is changing the way we used to interact with applications and operating systems.

Making it easier to create stickers on WhatsApp

According to the report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is apparently working on a new feature to create and share AI-generated stickers with a chosen group of beta testers on the Android platform.

As you can guess by the mention of “Beta Testers,” the feature is in a testing phase. The latest Android WhatsApp beta, version 2.23.17.14, has a new “Create” button under the Sticker tab.

WhatsApp is Working on AI Generated Stickers
Source: WABetaInfo

Tapping this button opens a new window to type text prompts. Those go into the AI, which generates stickers for them. After the sticker is generated, users will be able to share them quickly with a tap.

WABetaInfo has also shared additional info regarding the feature that states Meta is using an unnamed secure technology for the AI-generated stickers, so users will be able to report any harmful or inappropriate stickers.

The generated stickers will supposedly have a unique look, indicating they are AI-generated.

This is a neat use of AI, giving any WhatsApp users the ability to create stickers without needing editing skills. So, eliminating the burden of creating stickers from images with a simple prompt will give casual users more flexibility to express their emotions.

TweetDeck, that handy tool we’ve all been using for free, has been gussied up, rebranded as X Pro, and slapped with a price tag. No more enjoying multiple feeds in real-time without reaching for your wallet.

And who do we have to thank for this? None other than billionaire boy-man wonder Elon Musk, who, after buying Twitter for $44 billion, decided to turn X into a cash cow, milking us for all we’re worth.

Starting Wednesday, if you want to keep using X Pro, you’re going to have to cough up $84 a year for the privilege. But don’t worry; they’re throwing in some “perks” to sweeten the deal.

Let’s not forget, though, the comedy of errors that was the launch of X Premium, formerly known as Twitter Blue. It was pulled almost immediately after launch due to a flood of users impersonating celebs and popular brands.

In the meantime, Musk has been playing puppet master, cutting jobs and introducing new features and policy changes faster than you can say, “What happened to Twitter?”

And then there’s the rebranding, which saw Twitter’s iconic bird logo replaced with… well, X.

It’s a sad day when a platform we’ve grown to love (or at least tolerate) decides to bleed us dry in the name of ‘progress.’ And for what? A few extra bells and whistles? A blue checkmark? It’s as if we’re paying for the privilege of being nickel-and-dimed.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s just plain dumb, and frankly, I’m not here for it.

The post New leak reveals OPPO Find N3 Flip design switch appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
Newly leaked images show the OPPO Find N3 Flip, with a familiar design of some components.

OPPO is currently the only smartphone manufacturer with foldables to rival Samsung’s Z Fold and Z Flip ranges.

We’ve got a look at the design of OPPO’s newest flip phone, thanks to a couple of timely leaks.

The leak showcases OPPO Find N3 Flip’s new camera bump

Digital Chat Station on Weibo and Indian tech outlet Pricebaba (via Wayback Machine) posted the new renders and CAD files of the OPPO Find N3 Flip.

Both posts are now removed, but we managed to save the images. The leaked renders showcase the new rear design of the OPPO Find N3 Flip.

However, the new foldable renders are different from the previous ones.

The older renders showed three camera modules in a line, reminiscent of the Find N2 Flip or the Samsung Galaxy S range.

Source: Pricebaba

The new renders show all the rear cameras have been placed onto a single camera island with the Hasselblad branding.

If that camera module looks familiar, it’s because that’s the design on any recent OnePlus device.

The tipsters say that the trio of rear cameras will be a 50MP main with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP telephoto. The selfie camera will be 32MP.

We’re wondering if the same OnePlus 11 5G cameras will be used. If so, the 8MP ultrawide could be a typo, as the OnePlus device has a 38MP ultrawide sensor instead.

OPPO Find N3 Flip expected specs

The OPPO Find N3 Flip is expected to feature a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED internal folding display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3-inch cover display on the outside.

Unfortunately, we are unaware of the N3 Flip’s battery size, but it is expected to feature 67W fast charging, and the device will come with ColorOS 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.

The Pricebaba leaks say the devices are expected to be launched in China by the end of the month, with a global launch scheduled for September.
