Fitbit is a leading fitness tracker manufacturer with a global user base. However, despite its popularity, the company has released only a handful of new fitness trackers in recent years.

The most recent launch from the company is Fitbit Inspire 3, launched in 2022, and we haven’t seen a launch since then. However, a recent report indicates Fitbit might be gearing up to launch at least one fitness tracker in 2023.

What is this new 2023 Fitbit fitness tracker?

New Fitbit Fitness Tracker is in the works

A new FCC filing indicates a launch is imminent. So, we expect Fitbit to launch this new 2023 fitness tracker pretty soon. However, we are yet to learn what the device actually will be like.

According to the listing, the upcoming tracker has only Bluetooth connectivity support, meaning there’s no Wi-Fi and likely no NFC support. So, in other words, you won’t be able to use Fitbit Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments.

In light of this leak, we only see two possibilities. It could be a sequel to the Fitbit Luxe, which originally launched in 2021.

At the time of its launch, the fitness tracker company had tried to market it as a luxury model, but it also didn’t feature NFC support, which didn’t make any sense. However, it is unlikely Fitbit would make the same mistake again.

The other possibility we are looking at is the sequel to the Fitbit Ace 3. The Ace line is designed for kids, so the missing NFC is justified.

Of course, there’s still a chance that we are looking at a completely new fitness tracker from the company. But we firmly believe this is Fitbit Ace 4.

OnePlus’s first book-style foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, was expected to launch next month. However, the launch date was pushed back due to the company’s decision to switch display manufacturers.

The latest leak is not actually directly about the OnePlus Open. It’s about a different foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N3. However, both are rumored to be essentially the same device for different markets.

Will OnePlus Open have the sharpest display?

According to Digital Chat Station, the OPPO Find N3 is expected to feature the highest pixel-density display among all foldable smartphones.

The leaker claims that Find N3 will feature a 7.82-inch main display with a 2,268 × 2,440 resolution and pixel density of 426 PPI.

In contrast, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 7.6-inch inner display with a 1,812 x 2,176 resolution and a pixel density of 373 PPI.

In other words, the OPPO Find N3, i.e., the OnePlus Open, will feature a larger internal display, and not only that, the display will be sharper and more detailed.

The external display is also getting the same treatment. OPPO Find N3’s external display is expected to have a 2,484 x 1,116 resolution, which is far higher than Galaxy Z Fold 5’s external screen with a 904 x 2,316 resolution.

The two phones are expected to launch soon, but launch and availability details haven’t been announced just yet.

The post New Samsung Galaxy Buds could be in the works, says leak appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
2023 has been quite the year for Samsung. The Korean tech giant started the year with the Galaxy S23, which became a fan-favorite Galaxy S series.

Then, only a month ago, the company held its second Unpacked event of the year, where it launched The Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Watch 6 series, and its foldable smartphone series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.

And the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE series are in the pipeline, according to reliable sources, ready to launch by the end of the year.

Now, we are almost in the fourth quarter of the year, and Samsung hasn’t announced a new set of earbuds. The last Samsung Galaxy Buds launched back in 2022, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The Dutch news outlet Galaxy Club has now revealed new info that indicates a new model of the Samsung Galaxy Buds is in the works. According to the outlet, the new earbuds carry the model number SM-R400N.

Could it really be the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3?

samsung galaxy buds 2 earbuds
Image: Samsung

Naturally, the mind goes to the Galaxy Buds 3, which was rumored to appear at last month’s Unpacked event. It has been almost two years since Galaxy Buds 2 launched. So, we are due for an upgrade.

However, the model number tells a different story. Based on the model number, the new Samsung earbud in development won’t likely be a “Pro” model, as Samsung’s Pro earbuds line uses “SM-R5xxx” as the standard model number.

The likely possibility the leaked device is an intermediary variant. In the past, Samsung has launched intermediary devices before launching a new iteration. So, the SM-R400N model could be something in between — Galaxy Buds 2 Plus or even a “Fan Edition.”

The Fan Edition theory makes sense since Samsung may revamp the FE brand in 2023. After skipping a year, we have a clear indication that the Galaxy S23 FE is in the pipeline alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. A pair of Fan Edition earbuds would go well with those.

Unfortunately, we don’t have enough information to draw a conclusion. New leaks will surely appear in the coming weeks. Until then, all we can say is that Samsung is working on a new earbud which likely will not be part of the “Pro” line.

Samsung made an unexpected decision in 2022. The company suddenly decided to decrease the battery capacity of the Galaxy S22 series. While the Galaxy S21 featured a 4,000 mAh battery capacity, on the Galaxy S22, it dropped to 3,700 mAh.

As suspected, the battery life suffered, and fans were not happy. Samsung tried to rectify the decision by slightly increasing the battery capacity of the Galaxy S23 series, but it still lacked behind the Galaxy S21

Bigger battery for the Galaxy S24 series

The latest report from the Dutch publication Galaxy Club suggests Samsung could finally be bringing bigger batteries to its flagship phone series.

According to the publication, next year’s Samsung Galaxy S24 could feature a 4,000 mAh battery, which is the same capacity as the Galaxy S21, and accompanied by more efficient chipsets; the S24 could feature even better battery life.

The report indicates the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus might also get the same treatment. The Galaxy S24 Plus could come with a 4,900 mAh battery, a 200 mAh increase from the current Galaxy S23 Plus.

If the information is correct, the S24 Plus could feature the biggest battery in the history of the Samsung Galaxy Plus models. The Galaxy S21 Plus featured a 4,800 mAh battery.

Lastly, the leader of the pack, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, should stick to its huge 5,000 mAh battery. Of course, these are all early leaks, so be sure to take them with a grain of salt, as Samsung could change its decisions before launch.

The Galaxy S24 series is expected to arrive in early 2024, so we still have a long way to go.

The post Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 leaks less than a month after Z Flip 5 launch appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
Samsung just launched the Galaxy Z Flip 5 late last month with the giant cover display being one of the few major upgrades. However, the flip phone still has the dual 12MP + 12MP camera setup.

GalaxyClub has some good news for the Galaxy Z Flip fans. According to the news outlet, the Korean tech giant is already in the early stages of testing the Galaxy Z Flip 6, reportedly with a prototype 50MP main camera.

We have no concrete confirmation on this, and it’s a pretty early leak. So, Samsung may end up ditching this 50MP sensor and stick to the 12MP camera.

If Samsung does end up using this 50MP primary sensor on next year’s Galaxy Z Flip 6, it would be a game changer for the Korean company and the Galaxy Z Flip series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 desperately needs a camera upgrade

Next Year's Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Could Feature a Much Awaited Camera Upgrade
Image: KnowTechie

Samsung introduced the 12MP primary camera with the first Galaxy Z Flip model back in 2020. Last year, Samsung did improve the primary camera with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 by adding a larger sensor for better low-light photography, but it stuck to the 12MP resolution.

Samsung’s rival OPPO Find N2 Flip already offers a 50MP primary camera, and this year it’s likely to improve further with the OPPO Find N3 Flip, pushing Samsung into a corner.

There are also several advantages of using high-resolution sensors. Due to the higher resolution, the sensors are able to deliver cleaner, brighter shots in low-light scenarios. The snapped photos are also far more detailed in native resolutions and daylight situations.

More importantly, 50MP sensors can deliver digital zoom using image cropping and make 8K recording possible. We hope that Samsung will at least improve the camera hardware on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 next year, as we got next-to-nothing in that department this year.

The next iPhone event is almost here, where Apple is expected to unveil the entire iPhone 15 series with multiple upgrades. However, the biggest improvement is rumored to be Apple swapping the Lightning port for a USB-C port

We’ve even heard rumors that some of the models could support faster charging speeds, and now we have a corroborating rumor that says the iPhone 15 will support up to 35W charging speed.

Apple is upping its charging game with iPhone 15

iPhone 15 series is coming
Source: 9to5Mac

According to the report by 9to5Mac, multiple industry sources have claimed that the new iPhone 15 models will feature a higher charging speed of up to 35W.

The iPhone 15 could have a charging speed that is considerably faster than that of the iPhone 14 Pro at 27W, and the vanilla iPhone 14 at 20W.

In its current charging speed, the iPhone 14 Pro Max takes about two hours to fully charge, which is quite a long time when compared to current-gen mid-range and flagship Android smartphones.

In contrast, Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, features a 45W charging speed that lets the device go from zero to 100 within an hour. While the rumored 35W charging speed is still on the lower end, it’s a considerable improvement compared to the iPhone 14.

Last year, Apple also introduced a new 35W Dual USB-C charger capable of charging current iPhones. And if the rumor is true, iPhone 15 could take full advantage of this charger, provided that it isn’t connected to another device, as it will split the power delivery.

However, Apple also sells a 30W USB-C charger, designed for the MacBook Air, which also works with iPhones and iPads.

That said, it is still unclear whether the new 35W charging speed will be limited to the Pro models or will work with all iPhone 15 models.

Apple is expected to hold the iPhone 15 event on September 12 or 13, and it is also expected to be a pre-recorded event, where we will finally get all the answers.

WhatsApp is on a roll. The popular instant messaging app is getting new features very regularly of late.

We recently reported spotting multiple upgrades in the WhatsApp for Android beta, including the likely addition of passkey, AI-generated stickers, and the schedule group call feature.

But WhatsApp is finally getting its long-awaited update that allows users to send images without compromising the image quality.

No more compromised image quality on WhatsApp

In his most recent Facebook post, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced WhatsApp is getting HD photo support.

WhatsApp users have asked for this feature for a long time, and the new feature will allow users to preserve the image quality when sent from Android, iOS, or the web.

The HD images will be denoted by a small “HD” logo that will appear at the bottom left corner. Once you update the app, you will be able to see the option appear among to the Editing Tools when sending an image to a message thread.

After tapping the “HD” icon, you will be able to choose between standard quality and HD quality. According to TechCrunch, the Standard Quality will be selected by default to ensure sharing photos remains fast and reliable.

However, you will have a choice if you receive an HD image while you have bad internet connectivity. You will be able to choose whether to receive the image in SD or HD.

The HD photo support feature was first spotted in the 2.23.12.13 beta version for Android and the 23.11.0.76 best version for iOS. WABetaInfo even captured screenshots of the feature.

The feature is not widely available yet. The global rollout of WhatsApp HD Photos should happen sometime next week, followed by HD video support.

]]>
Apple’s iPhone 15 series is all set to be unveiled this September, according to the most recent leaks, likely to be a pre-recorded event like last year’s.

iPhone 15 leaks paint a positive image of Apple’s upcoming smartphone, including the addition of USB-C, Action Button on the Pro variants, and more.

However, the latest report is slightly less positive, indicating Apple might discontinue its iconic leather iPhone case with the iPhone 15 series.

No Apple leather case for the iPhone 15?

Multiple leakers and industry insiders have claimed that Apple plans to discontinue its iconic leather iPhone case, and now 9to5Mac is also reporting the same. However, at the moment, it is not clear why Apple is stopping the iPhone leather case line.

Apple’s iPhone leather case ranges between $59 and $129, and it’s pretty popular among iPhone fans since the leather case was first introduced in 2013 with the iPhone 5s. They’re even some of the best iPhone 14 cases you can buy today.

The tanned leather iPhone cases with soft microfiber lining have been a staple for iPhone users and are considered the most premium first-party phone cases since their launch.

Down the road, Apple even added MagSafe charging to the cases with the launch of the iPhone 12, as a part of its attempt to create a MagSafe accessories ecosystem. We speculate that Apple may introduce an even more premium case in its place.

That said, it is quite possible that Apple is taking the eco-friendly route and stopping leather case production as it has a giant carbon footprint.

Over the years, the company has eliminated chargers and other accessories in the name of saving the environment, and leather is far from eco-friendly.

It could be the actual reason, or Apple could use this reason to justify discontinuing the leather case while introducing a more expensive case for the iPhone 15 series made from a different material.

The post Microsoft could hold the next Surface event on September 21 appeared first on KnowTechie.

Microsoft’s last big Surface event happened in October 2022. So, following last year’s trend, we’ve been expecting Microsoft to hold 2023’s Surface event in the same month to unveil the Surface Laptop 6, Surface Pro 10, and other Surface devices.

However, the latest leak suggests Microsoft could end up announcing those Surface products a month earlier.

Microsoft is already sending invitations for the Surface Event!

Jake Kro has claimed on X, formerly Twitter, that Microsoft is already sending out invites for the special event. And the said special event is reportedly to take place on 21st September 2023.

Although the company hasn’t officially announced anything through a press release or on social media, Krol claims the invitation is for 2023’s Microsoft Surface event.

A long list of Surface devices is expected to feature at this event. However, most of them are next-gen iterations of devices introduced in previous years. The list includes the Surface Laptop 6, Surface Pro 10, and Surface Go 4. The Surface Studio 3 and Audio Dock 2 could also appear at the event.

Microsoft is very likely to unveil the Surface Laptop 6 at this event, as substantial leaks about the upcoming notebook are already circling the internet. The Laptop is expected to sport a 13th-generation Intel processor, better battery life, and a 10-point multi-touch display.

In terms of the rest of the potential Surface devices we could see at this event, the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Go 4 have also leaked a fair bit. Windows Central had even reported that the Surface Go 4 could feature an ARM processor, and the Surface Pro 10 could come in two sizes — 11-inch and 13-inch.

All things considered, we are just speculating. If this is indeed Microsoft’s big Surface event, the official announcement should arrive soon.
